The First International Colloquium THE BOSNIAN ORAL TRADITION IN WORLD CULTURE
Mostar, 27th and 28th October 2017
The Museum of Herzegovina and the Centre for Cultural Heritage of the International Forum Bosnia, with financial support of the Federation Ministry of Education and Science, will organise a scientific programme the First International Colloquium on the Bosnian Oral Tradition in World, on 27th and 28th October 2017. The programme will be implemented in the Cultural Centre in Mostar. The goal of the First International Colloquium on the Bosnian Oral Tradition in World is to initiate long-term systematic presentation and research of the Bosnian oral tradition in the Milman Parry oral literature collection (Harvard University). The collection is fundamentally related to Bosnian oral heritage. It is the basis of a number of research endeavours in cultures across the world. It is insufficiently familiar and used in the country of its origin. The invited researchers from the country and the world will present the content and significance of the collection as well as the possibility of its reinclusions into the living Bosnian culture.
In addition to purely scientific content of the Colloquium, there will also be a public debate on Bosnian oral heritage and an exhibition entitled the Art of Bosnian Musandera.
The final programme of the First International Colloquium on the Bosnian Oral Tradition in World will be presented on a press conference to be held in the Cultural Centre in Mostar on 27th October 2017.
